The First Yearly Men’s Survivor Summit

Spring 2026 · Birmingham

The first Yearly Men’s Survivor Summit will take place in Spring 2026 in Birmingham, bringing together male survivors, practitioners, advocates, and allies for a compassionate gathering rooted in dignity, courage, and community.

Created as part of What Was Hidden, this male survivors initiative offers a dedicated space for truth-telling, connection, and learning. The summit will include survivor-led storytelling, opportunities for peer connection, professional learning sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and moments of remembrance – held with care, respect, and an understanding of the complexities men often face when speaking about harm.

The gathering seeks not only to support those directly affected, but also to increase public and governmental awareness, foster informed dialogue, and inspire meaningful action. By bringing lived experience and professional insight into conversation, the summit aims to contribute to lasting cultural, institutional, and policy change.

Beyond the event itself, What Was Hidden is committed to providing ongoing support, resources, and pathways of connection for survivors and their families. The summit marks the beginning of a wider, sustained effort to ensure that male survivors are seen, heard, and supported – long after the gathering has ended.
