How the project started

Inside The Boys’ Club began as a simple idea: could we make it safer for men and boys to speak about sexual abuse—and be heard with dignity? Andy Woodward had been collaborating with Dr Naomi Murphy, whose clinical expertise and humanity have been a pillar of hope for survivors and a compass for trauma‑informed practice. Then came a sliding‑doors moment: meeting Sane Seven, who instantly recognised our passion and purpose, and brought in her creative partner, Dr Marius Janciauskas. Together, we formed a small, determined team and built something unique—striking portraits and short films that cut through silence without sensationalising pain. This project exists to be shared: by survivors, families, communities, and organisations across sectors. We’re not gatekeeping—we’re inviting. Read, watch, and then add your voice: stories, videos, podcasts, resources. Help us grow subscriptions so we can expand this movement, reach schools, clubs, workplaces and media, sport and create more tools for healing and prevention. Our message is simple: you don’t have to carry the mask or the baggage anymore. Speak. Be believed. Pass it on.

video 1:

Over 150,000 boys will be sexually abused this year in the UK. Most won’t tell anyone for twenty years. Inside the Boys’ Club gives men a voice in a society that taught them to hide their pain. Four survivors break the rules of silence – “Man up. Don’t cry. Don’t tell anyone.” This film is for the men who still can’t speak, and for everyone who ever looked away. Help other men see this.

video 2:

Four men talk about what it really takes to speak out after years of silence. Inside the Boys’ Club explores why men stay quiet about childhood sexual abuse – and what changes when they finally find the words. Speaking out isn’t about reliving the past. It’s about reclaiming it. Help other men see this.

video 3:

Healing after child sexual abuse doesn’t mean forgetting – it means learning to live again. In this film, four men share how recovery really feels: the slow, uneven process of rebuilding trust, identity, and hope after years of silence. Inside the Boys’ Club gives voice to men breaking the silence around childhood sexual abuse – and finding strength in speaking out. Help other men see this.

video 4:

From the time they can walk, boys are told not to cry, not to complain, not to need protection. In this film, four men speak about how those messages kept them silent after childhood sexual abuse – and what happens when they finally reject them. Inside the Boys’ Club challenges the myth that strength means silence, showing what real courage looks like when men decide to feel, speak, and heal. Help other men see this.

video 5:

One in three victims of child sexual abuse are male – but you’d never know it. In this film, four men reveal how abuse hides in plain sight, cutting across privilege, class, and background. From boarding schools to prisons, silence has no boundaries. Inside the Boys’ Club reminds us that you can’t see the scars – but you can help break the silence. Help other men see this.

video 6:

When a man speaks about childhood sexual abuse, too often he’s met with disbelief, blame, or silence. In this film, four men share how those reactions – “it couldn’t have happened to you” or “are you sure?” – can hurt as much as the abuse itself. Inside the Boys’ Club shows how simple words – “I believe you, it’s not your fault, you’re safe” – can change everything. Help other men see this.

video 7:

What happens when child sexual abuse is ignored? In this final film, men connect the dots between silence and its consequences – addiction, homelessness, prison, broken relationships, and mental health. Inside the Boys’ Club calls on government, media, and society to recognise the scale of the problem – and to see the men who’ve been invisible for too long. Help other men see this.
